Abstract. Geography
Indonesiais located in tropics causing Indonesia vulnerable to climate change
especially wet season and dry season.When wet season comes,
flood is a threat, disaster, and nightmare for people who live near river or
dam area. Early Warning System Water Level with magnetic float level gauge method is a device that is capable of
indicating water level from a river or dam. With this device people can monitor
and know the water level without see with their own eyes to the spot, so that
if the water is flooding from the river or dam people can immediately evacuate
from the flood’s harm. The principle of this device is the input from a change
of water level that on the water surface there is a float that in the inside
there is a magnet as a sensor which will turns on the reedswitch because there is an interaction between magnet
and reedswitch, so that the LED turned on. The purpose of this device is to
give a warning with the LED indicator from water surface, thus loss of lives or
materials can be decreased. The aim of this paper is making a prototype early warning system water
level with magnetic float level gauge method.
